If you’ve been reading articles on this website or watching videos on my YouTube channel, you may have noticed I have not been adding any content for around 2 months. Firstly, I have to say I am truly sorry for the many of you who have contacted me (here on this website or via email and facebook). I have not replied to many of you, and I must apologise, especially to those of you with upcoming exams. I would like to give an update and an explanation. Furthermore, I will share my plans for how I can help more of you with medical English and the OET.
Where have I been?
I started online teaching while I was on a career break from working in the UK healthcare system. I moved to Argentina where I learned medical Spanish and spent the rest of my time making videos, writing posts and teaching online. After nearly a year, I travelled for 6 weeks to explore some more of Latin America. My initial plan was to upload a few videos and keep on top of my messages while on the trip. Unfortunately the wi-fi was not as good as I had hoped for, and I was very busy exploring. In addition, I was unexpectedly very ill for a while. If the lovely Bolivian doctors who treated me are reading this, thank you so much for your kindness!
I have now been back in the UK for a couple of weeks. I have been caught up in a whirlwind of seeing friends and family and sorting out legal documentation etc. Also, an opportunity arose to work a few shifts in my previous hospital. This is great news for me, as the hospital is lovely and I have missed clinical work. Unfortunately this means there has been less time to work on this website. In addition, I am planning on moving to Australia to work as a doctor there. Those of you who have dealt with immigration systems will know that this process is also time consuming!

To everyone who has subscribed to my channel and/or watched and/or commented on my videos – thank you so so much! I’m still focusing my energy on providing useful videos, but in the long term I plan on upgrading my equipment to make the channel more professional.

I have drafted some articles with tips to help people studying medical English, I hope to finish and upload these soon! I also plan to make the website much more interactive. Many students I have taught ask me similar questions. I would like to build a way that anyone can ask me questions and I can answer them, possibly with a video or an article. I started Learn English for Healthcare with a view to help anybody studying medical English, not just those paying for lessons. This may take a while to set up, as I manage this website completely by myself. Sometimes the technical aspects of adding features can be tricky!
Many people ask me about extra OET materials. I plan on writing more, but in order to make something high quality I want to spend plenty of time before publishing them. I also have plans on getting some materials designed specifically for nurses which I will put on this website for free!
Am I still doing online tutoring?
Firstly, I am overwhelmed at the number of people who have contacted me requesting online lessons! At the start of this business I had assumed that a handful of people might want lessons. Instead I have received hundreds of enquiries! I will reply to all of them over the next few days; I’m so sorry if you were hoping for classes before an exam.
I will begin to offer online lessons again, but my schedule is tight and I may have to turn down many potential students due to lack of suitable times. For this reason I will no longer offer free trial lessons, instead charging 3 US dollars. This is to ensure that I prioritise serious students who intend on taking classes. Of course I will answer any questions you may have by email beforehand free of charge.
