This website is all about providing help and resources for people learning English. I make general resources for medical English, and I write articles about the Occupational English Test. I also sometimes blog in general about languages relating to medicine. I hope you can find something useful and interesting to help your medical English studies!
About Me: As a Doctor
I graduated from The University of Cambridge Medical School in 2013. I worked for 5 years as a doctor in the UK public health system (the NHS) for 5 years. My first 2 years I worked in many specialties as part of the Foundation Programme (similar to an internship). I then began training for 3 years in anaesthesia, a specialty I really love!
However, in 2018 I decided to take a break from formal training in order to start this website and work teaching English. I moved to Latin America where I did a clinical attachment to maintain my competencies. I had a great time, but I missed clinical medicine. I was very lucky to move to Australia to work in a large Intensive Care Unit.
About me: As a Teacher
I have always been passionate about teaching! While working as a doctor I was employed by both the University of Cambridge and the University of Leicester to teach medical students. As part of this experience I became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK.
I also love languages and during medical school I spent a summer working as an English teacher in Poland. I am now a TESOL certified English teacher and I taught English to medical professionals online for over a year. I am also an official OET preparation provider.
Due to my clinical commitments I can no longer dedicate my time to 1:1 teaching. However, I will keep making Youtube videos and writing articles for this website to continue helping as many people as possible with medical English!
